Whenever you use information or images from a source (book, magazine, website, etc.) it is important to give the source credit for the material. If you use someone else's ideas or images, you need to give them credit otherwise you are stealing their ideas and hard work. The way we give them credit is to "cite our sources" or put down enough information about them that someone else can find the same source and read it for themselves. We also cite our sources so that people know where to go to find more information on our topic. Usually we put all the citations together in the Bibliography.
Citations are usually formatted in a particular way. We will learn how to use a tool to help us with the correct format for citing our work. We will be using the MLA 8 (Modern Language Association) format. The tool we will be using is the OSLIS Citation Maker.
